Mavruka Hotel

This newly built hotel is situated in the Olu Deniz just a mere 30 metres from the beautiful beach, 100 metres from the famous blue lagoon and in the centre of town this is the ideal hotel to showcase the paradise that can be found in Turkey.

Goldtrail as featured on Watchdog!

"Two million of us head to Turkey every summer and, because it's outside the Eurozone, it's tipped to knock Spain off the top spot for bargain holidays. Turkey is the destination where East meets West; with stunning scenery and fabulous beaches. 

However, if you go with one Goldtrail Holidays it could be a place where your hotel room may have no curtains but perhaps some bare wires. They may give your baby a wet, stained mattress to sleep on and in the bar, they could serve you drinks from a yoghurt pot."

Really letting the side down, Gold Trail a Turkey "specialist" was featured on Watchdog this week. Check out the video in the link for an idea of how bad the hotels they were selling were.

Of course, this is the exception rather than the rule for Turkish hotels. All the hotels we feature have been visited by a Sun Stop representative or are booked with suppliers who uphold the same high standards as ourselves and if weren't happy with a hotel then we would remove that hotel from our booking system.

And as for Turkey being described as a "third-world country" this is probably one of the mst insulting and stupid things this blogger has ever heard.  Turkey may not have the luxury of the high standards of the top European resorts but it is a far cry from being a third world nation.

Turunc Hotel

Built in 1987 and recently renovated in 2007 this is an elegant hotel that offers its guests comfort and a unique hospitality in a very beautiful and convenient location. Situated just 20 kilometres south of Marmaris in Turunc bay, this area has a wonderful climate and very close to picturesque Turunc Village. 

Being at sea level on the sandy beach with its very own private cove, the peninsula is dotted with paths which have been in use since Ancient Greek and Roman ages, providing many opportunities for sea and mountain exploration.

The buildings consists of 4 floors and 431 rooms. The rooms offer French bed or twin bed, bath, WC, split air conditioning, telephone, TV, hairdryer, mini bar (water and mineral water on arrival), balcony and a seating section.

The holiday review website, Holiday Watchdog, has an average visitor rating of 7.5/10 so you know that this hotel is of an excellent quality (particularly when you consider most people go to that type of site moan rather than praise!).  

This hotel is approximately 118 km from Dalaman airport, and about 20 km from the centre of Marmaris.

Turkey in bid to host 2016 European Championships!

Not that we need an excuse to visit Turkey but if there is going to be football on offer as well then 2016 will be a must for us to visit this beautiful country.  And let's hope England actually qualify for this one!
